I am back...

Well officially I was back from Thailand 3 weeks ago. My body clock has made the change from night to day, I'm not having the "stuck in an airplane for 17 hours" nitemare, and the I hope I can eat this crap. I am feeling the loss I feel from not having a 2 year old waking me up with "Poopa, are you sleeping?". On the other hand I feel blessed to listen to everyone speaking English, I love giving my husband a real hug, I love the new dog we got while I was away, I love that I can see my kids anytime I want, and being back among my friends. I am back to work at the quilt store.

We are doing the famous March spring cleaning. Getting ready for all the new and wonderful.

This Saturday is National Quilting Day. We will be celebrating by making a pincushion during open sew from 1-4.

So come in and enjoy a day to celebrate that we are quiltersT

Let the Holidays Begin!

As usual December flew by and here we are just a few days before Christmas! The tree is trimmed, gifts wrapped, menus planned, ready for family and friends to come together and celebrate.

You may notice this post is not a lively as usual. Kathy, who has always posted on our blog, is away visiting family in Bangkok until March 6, 2012. I will try to fill her shoes but things just won't be the same until she comes back.

Ok, I am trying not to complain-but  I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS BLOGGING STUFF!  But yesterday I somehow managed to publish a post with a photo. Must of been by accident, because I don't know how I did it  so I can do it again.
   So have a wonderful holiday weekend and we will be talking-er  blogging next week!

New Arrival

We are so excited to be providing a temporary home for the cutest Singer Featherweight!.

This 1946 machine was rescued by Jack Yezbak, the local expert in Featherweight repair and refurbishing. It has been completely rebuilt, painted in a lovely retro powder blue color and will steal your heart in a minute-or less.

I saw it at the recent Patchwork in the Pines Quilt Show hosted by RQK, a local Quilt Guild. I fell in love with it and almost took it home but opted for a dark green machine also rebuilt and painted by Jack.

If you hurry you can see both machine's at the shop-and take the blue one home with you!

Featherweight owners-how do you feel about your machine(s)? How did you get them? 

Most inherit their machines from family, but some (many) machines are abandoned to be rescued by wonderful people like Jack.  By the way if you inherited one or found one to rescue that needs a tune up or more, Jack can fix it up to run like it should so it will be purring along piecing your quilts for you.
