Happy Halloween!

Halloween is over now,
all we have to clean this mess up, somehow!

That and eat all the candy bars I set aside because I love them (Baby Ruth & Butterfingers) and just in case of low blood sugar.

Judy just got back from Huston Quilt Market, She brought back all kinds of fun things.  New patterns and ideas galore.  She took some classes and saw all the new and got to have items. She is all aglow with the fresh off the airplane.

So what did I do while Judy was gone?  I did some research on QR's.  Now you are asking what is a QR code?

Thanks for asking (perhaps you really don't care, which is ok too). A Quick Respond Code Response  is a type of  two-dimensional code,  first designed for the automotive industry. More recently, the system has become popular outside of the industry due to its fast readability and comparatively large storage capacity. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. So I made one.
See doesn't it sort of look like a quilt?  Now all a person needs is a QR reader app for their smart phone, Ipod touch, Ipad basically anything that you can get an app for.  Then you use the QR Reader app to scan the code and TA DA would be directed to Liberty Bell Quilts Web Page magically.  I love technology and all the great things that come with it. Now if technology could make my hair and body look better, now that would be MAGIC

Went to the Big City of Chicago ...

I go to Chicago a few times a year and this is what I normally see as I run to catch my connection.
My friend and traveling companion Diane.  I hate to merge into other lanes on the expressway (fear of blind spots and crashes).  Diane would tell me when I could safely merge all I had to say was "Mayhem?" (of course I was driving her car, and she wanted to come back in one piece).

A truly great view of the skyline from 90/94 except in real life there were cars everywhere and it was stop and go.  Diane did the driving and Mrs. Garmin did the navigating.

Diane and I attended some mini seminars for quilt shops and even bought some new fabrics home with us.
We are back home in Cedar "watching paint dry"

Awesome Autumn

Some of the Leelanau trees are losing their autumn beauty

There are other trees just getting ready to show their colors.

What would Fall be like without fresh apples?  Judy has already made one of her famous apple pies, YUM

The watchman is making sure there are no pumpkin thieves
It is hard to focus when it is so nice outside but I must get back to work and get the windows ready for Halloween.

W I P s that I can see...

What is a WIP?  Works In Progress.  I am a master at making WIPs not so good on getting any of them done.  These are but a few, you should see what my home sewing room looks like.  That being said I am going to get sewing on something today!  See you at the machine.

It's a Heat Wave......

Burning in my heart (you know the song).  So far it's been great beach weather this July.  I've been in my pool (picture a portly women floating in a  10 ft x 24" deep kiddy pool) or camping with the air conditioner blasting.

Here at Liberty Bell Quilts we are seeing lots of old friends as well as making new friends.  We are gearing up for the Amazing Quilt Race scheduled for August 13 - 20th (still have passports available).  Stop in and see us (the air conditioning is on) and then cross the street to enjoy an icy treat from the Blue Moon.

Stay Cool!!!
